Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle School (MOEMS) was established in 1979. It is one of the most influential and fun-filled math competition programs in the United States and throughout the world, with over 120,000 students from every state and 39 countries participating. The objectives of MOEMS are to teach multiple strategies for out-of-the-box problem solving, develop mathematical flexibility in solving those problems, and foster mathematical creativity and ingenuity.
CKSTEM Students participated in this beautiful contest for the first time. Our students did extremely well in the contest. Roughly 80% of the participating students win the award.
Dr. George Lenchner founded the Math Olympiads in 1978 as a regional competition for elementary and middle school students on Long Island, N.Y. Now schools in every state and 30 countries around the world hold the competition, which awards students for achievement in five monthly contests usually held from November to March.
Amylee Ali is CKSTEM's first winner of the George Lenchner Award Gold Medal by achiving a perfect score in all 5 contests. Congratulations Amylee for your extraordinary performance.
Amylee won a 100% scholarship to attend the Math Problem Solving Course in the 2022 Canadian Summer Contests. We are happy to see that she is maximizing the outcome of the opportunity she got. We are proud of you, Amylee.
